Get to know Us
Hi! We are Megan, Mat, & Duke. We are the owners of Riverdogs Adventure Camp. Welcome to our Fur Fam.

From a young age Megan knew she wanted to work with animals. She graduated from Iowa State with a degree in Animal Science. After college, Megan worked in the pork industry specializing in handling, welfare, compliance, biosecurity, and education. A city girl working in agriculture. At a job interview her future boss asked what her dream job is. Without hesitation she told him. “To play with dogs all day.” He later told her he always remembered that answer because of how her face lit up. Fast forward and she is living that dream.
Mat grew up on a small farm in western Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State with a degree in Accounting. After college Mat worked in the pork industry specializing in accounting, feed, and logistics. His dream career was being a stay at home husband and golfing. Well he got close, he’s at home - all the time. But working instead of golfing. Mat loves making up games to entertain the dogs.

We met at work in 2011 and have always worked together. We share the love for sports, traveling, playing games/puzzles, and trips with our pups. Mat enjoys guys weekends, golfing, and keeping up on the latest sports gossip and trades. Megan retreats to gardening, crafting, and cleaning. It is just us at camp which means you know who is loving your pup!

Duke joined our family when he was 3.5 and was quite reserved and a bit of a challenge. He has truly blossomed into the best boy. Duke loves being with his humans (so he really hit the jackpot). He is the sweetest dog and everyone wants to take him home. Duke's favorite things are snacks (we call him a sausage), suckling on fuzzy plushies, car rides, and pest control around camp. He's still waiting to catch a deer.
Kiley was the boss and face of camp. She would tug with any dog and had an obsession with toys. Kiley was our heart and soul. We are so glad we got to start RAC so we could spend her last years out in the yard and taking van trips across the USA.
